Stars burst out haphazardly from the delicately embroidered eagle, looking more like the night sky than the flag

The combination of field proportions and charming chaos gives it a playful, almost modern graphic design sensibility

All hand stitched. Shows 50 stars, likely made squarely around 1960, potentially in celebration of the 50th state (Hawaii) in 1959. 

All around in good shape, some small and faint stains pictured. Has not been laundered, faint atticy smell but definitely not as aromatic as your average quilt
