Plan for New York City, 1969 (Six Volume set)

Comprehensive study of New York City’s social ills at a time when the city was falling into total decay. The city’s industrial economy was crumbling, the police and politicians were growing more corrupt, streets became dirtier, buildings abandoned, a whole city going down the tubes. These volumes were published by the New York City Planning Commission in an attempt to understand the social factors of the city in decline and create a plan to reverse them. These books double as technical urbanist studies with 200 maps and 250 charts as well as modern photo books with over 800 photos, many taken by the Magnum photo group led by Charles Harbutt. A complete set is very difficult to come by

Good condition supplemental volume of Planning for Jobs 1971, includes with the set. (Planning for Jobs shows some wear and light water damage)
