Tough to determine its exact lifespan but the Mayan Room was open in Rockefeller Center sometime from the 40s to the late 1960s. Art deco and modern architects/designers were enamored with the forms and symbols of Mayan builders, this trend of the Mayan Revival started in the 1920s and lasted through the 60s. This sign was likely for interior use, maybe standing on a display stand or in a frame in a hallway in Rockefeller Center. A quick perusal of their menu doesn’t show much food remotely Mayan, except maybe the alligator pear, also known as the avocado
